One of the biggest jumps in Spanish is learning to connect your ideas the way native speakers do. Single sentences are fine, but the moment you start linking thoughts with the right connectors, your Spanish starts to sound genuinely fluent.
Words like pero, aunque, and porque do a lot of work in everyday conversation – and knowing when to use each one makes all the difference.

In this short quiz, you’ll practise some of the most common contrast and reason connectors in Spanish. Read each sentence carefully, think about the logic connecting the two ideas, and choose the word that fits.
